March 19th and 20th saw the BBC take over Nunton Steadings and turn the function room into a TV set. The Gaelic programme “Cunntas” was filmed at Nunton and broadcast on Thursday 22nd March. A panel and audience of local residents discussed a number of issues from the fall in population of the Uists to the colour of the new Land Rover!

Afterwards, we received the following message from the BBC:
Dear Mairi, Phil,
A belated thank you for all your help in making sure the Cunntas programme went well. There has been universal praise for the programme from the powers that be here in Glasgow and the viewing figures and audience appreciation were really good. This was in no small way due to all the help (and beautiful food) we received during the making of the programme. I hope we didn’t cause too much disruption, and I look forward to popping in for a visit if ever I’m up in the area again.
Once again thanks,
Leis gach dheagh dhùrachd,
John McMillan
