Check out The People’s Friend out this week. A nice article about exploring the Uists, including a visit to Nunton Steadings last summer.

Dr MacDonald has researched many aspects of the build-up of the Range and how it became the catalyst for a variety of debates about the place of the Uists and the local culture within a rapidly integrating world.
A very big thankyou to everyone who attended the fundraising musical event by Mairead and Guests. We had a full house on the night and raised £230 towards Mairead’s Scottish Youth Theatre fund. Performers on the night were Mairead, Ruaraidh MacIntyre, Ask Me Later with Don McIllwraith and Stuart MacArthur and Sounds Like April. Look forward to a second night of music in June with Mairead performing hits from musical shows.
The artists at last night’s Hebrovision were Ask Me Later, who are Casey Whittaker, Eoghain Lapsley and Iain Pritchard. Ask Me Later kicked off the night with their song “Changes”. Quite apt as they sneakily changed the words the second time around.
“Rhyan” aka Ryan Dempsey gave a great performance, the winning one in fact, with his song “In the Bath”. Ryan is half of Sounds Like April, the other member is Paul Sloss:

What can I say about Secret Squirrel? Ed Taylor and Stuart MacArthur were “most excellent” with their song “Whisky is my Crown”. Some dubious lyrics but all in the spirit of Eurovision.
KC without the sunshine band…that’s how Casey described herself. Her song “Take the Time” was another good example of her work.
Finally, Don McIllwraith performed his song “Velvet Ground”. Great acoustic guitar playing.
See our YouTube page for more Hebrovision footage.
