Continuing the programme of events to mark the 50th anniversary of the Hebrides Range, Susan Bain, National Trust for Scotland Area Manager for the Western Isles will present a talk at the Steadings on Wednesday 12th September at 8pm.
Susan has had a long association with research and archeological work on St Kilda and her presentation will look at her area of work in the context of military developments over the last 50 years.

Stephen Carter, a photographer now living in North Uist will be exhibiting his work at the Steadings from the 1st to the 14th of September 2007. More information about Stephen’s work can be found on his website.

Faclan Festival
Jean-Didier Hache, in conjunction with the Islands Book Trust, will present a talk on his new book “The French MacDonald” at Nunton Steadings on the 29th August at 8pm. Our new exhibition room is now open to visit. The 50th anniversary of the RA Range is marked by the Island Book Trust, CNES and QinetiQ with an ongoing exhibition at Nunton Steadings. There are photographs a plenty of people and places, come in and share your memories with everyone and enjoy a look back at the past fifty years of the range.

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the RA Range, we will be showing the film “Rockets Galore” from Wednesday 8th August through to Friday 10th August. In addition, we will preceed the film with a short film from 1961, with Ludovic Kennedy interviewing Islanders about the new Rocket range. Screening starts at 7:30 p.m with a bar until late, entry is £2.50 at the door.
