Radio Nunton

At long last Radio Nunton is back up. Have a listen in to the new “Crash My Model Car” CD. Keep an eye out for tickets to the CMMC gig at Nunton on the 28th December.

Exhibition of Works

Amanda Rae will be exhibiting her works in the Steadings. Amanda is currently studying at Taigh Chearsabhagh after completing Year 1 BA in Fine Art. Living in South Uist she is continually inspired by its uplifting scenery, its beauty and tranquility. Her expressive paintings and drawings portray a love of experimentation with colours and texture; creating abstract designs that convey moods and emotions responding to the surrounding environment.

Saturday Markets

The market is held on the last Saturday of the month in the main room of the Steadings. To book your stall please contact Rosemary on 01870 603474.
Christmas Market will be held on the 15th of December. This is a popular event, suggest you book your table early to avoid disappointment.

Strings and Song Workshop

Workshop for harpers, fiddlers, cellists and singers by Cheyenne Brown (harp) and Seylan Baxter (cello & voice). Scottish tunes and songs for all ages at Nunton Steadings on Wednesday 28th November 2007. Some examples of workshops are attached. cheyenne-brown-seylan-baxter.doc
This will give you an idea of what to expect but the format will depend on the interests of participants. There should be something for everyone and above all the workshops should be a lot of fun.
Bring your own instrument and/or your voice and learn a new tune or have a go at arranging tunes. For further information contact info@celloharp.com

The Steadings tearoom will be open for the duration of the workshop.

Workshop fee £10 / £8 for concessions. Workshop & Concert £15 / £10 concessions

Cheyenne and Seylan will be holding a concert later on that evening at 8pm. Details will be published on this website.

Introduction to Commercial Horticulture

A one day training and information event is to be held, starting at 10:00 am on Saturday 17th November at Nunton Steadings. Aimed at crofters and small producers, this event will provide you the knowledge on meeting the increasing demand for fresh, local produce. Tutors are Audrey Litterick and Norman Stephen, Scottish Agricultural College. Nunton Steadings, the Uists and Benbecula appear on this weeks Cairt Turais STV this Wednesday 14th at five past midnight. So stay up late and see who you recognise apart from Angela who is presenting the show!

The Edge of the World - Michael Powell Film

Friday 9th November, The Islands Book Trust, will be showing the Michael Powell classic film, “The Edge of the World”. With supplementary footage of St Kilda and reference to Michael Powell’s book “200,000 Feet on Foula” , which is based on the story of the film.
