New Bilingual Signage

Last week saw our new signs installed at Nunton. A fantastic job by Lorraine Burke from Hebridean Graphics has given us the signs just as we imagined them. A big thankyou to our funders, Sgioba na Gàidhlig and Comunn na Gàidhlig, pictured below at Nunton with Mairi are from left to right:
Doileag NicLeòid, Sgioba na Gàidhlig; Domhnall MacSuain, Sgioba na Gàidhlig; Alasdair MacLeòid, Sgioba na Gàidhlig; Agnes Rennie, Chair, Comataidh Buileachaidh Plana Cànan, CnES; Calum Iain MacLeòid, Comunn na Gàidhlig; Domhnall Weir, Sgioba na Gàidhlig and John A Maciver, Comataidh Buileachaidh Plana Gàidhlig, CnES.signs1.jpg

Monach Isles Trip

monachs1.jpg
Saturday 14th June saw a wee staff outing from the Steadings in the form of a trip to the Monach Islands with the Islands Book Trust. Penny, Emma and Phil spent the day exploring Heisker and it’s wildlife, ruins and rabbit holes! If you get the chance to go to the Monachs, take it, as it is a fascinating place to discover.

Susanne!!!!!!!!

Wow, my big sister is coming home from her 20 year sentence in Australia, she has been starved of all things British so watch out!!!!!

Children’s Parliament Exhibition

June 14, 2008 12:00 pmtoJune 19, 2008 4:00 pm

An exhibition of work from the Children’s Parliament running from Saturday the 14th June to the 19th June.

Bi Beo

Last Friday 30th May saw Bi Beo entertain a group of American students at Nunton Steadings. Along with John Alick Mackay, it was a truly memorable night. John Alick played brilliantly on the box and got all up dancing, Mairi, James and I managing to teach the dances as they went along. Bi Beo performed an amazing acoustic set which had everyone stomping their feet and clapping hands, some new songs even better than the now favourites. A big thankyou to James and Bi Beo and also to Rachel Cameron and Johnathon for playing additional acoustic songs. Have a look at the gallery for a few pics.
