Comunn Phiobaireachd Uibhist agus Bharraidh are hosting a piping recital by Patrick Molard at the Steadings on Friday 25th April commencing at 8pm. £5 admission at the door. There will be a licenced bar, raffle and teas.
Patrick Molard is one of the most innotive and best known musicians in Britanny and is regarded as the best highland piper on mainland Europe. He was taught by Jackez Pincet, R.U. Brown and R.B. Nicol, both Queens Pipers. He has appeared on over 50 albums. Plays 3 or 4 different kinds of nbagpipes incluing Uilleann Pipes. He has played with many of the leading bands like Gwerz, Den, and with artists like Dan ar Bras and Alan Stivell. Champion of Brittany and MacAllan winner many times. This is a unique opportunity to hear him in Uist while he is here attending the launch of his latest CD, ‘Dusgadh Fir na Bainnse’ distributed by MacMeanma Records.molard.jpg

Operation Hardrock

The Islands Book Trust present the St Kilda Summer Exhibition with the opening event Operation Hardrock.This was the name given to the initial setting up and building work undertaken by RAF 5004 Airfield Construction Squadron on St Kilda in 1957 through to the following year. Dr David Boddington RAMC., Commanding Officer on St Kilda 1958/59, will be guest speaker at this event.

Bi Beo CD Launch

Bi Beo will be performing at Nunton Steadings on the 22nd March 8pm to mark the release of their first CD. Come along and enjoy some great music and wish the band good luck with the CD and their trip to Ireland.
